The doll in the box
Had long brown locks
And her dress was as sweet as they came.
Her hair was a mess
And so was her dress,
But Aunt Lou bought her just the same.
Oh, no (oh, no)
Oh, no! (oh,no)
Oh, what should be done with Aunt Lou?
Even at a bargain price
This doll wasn't very nice.
What's a poor old doll hoarder to do?
LOL! This is funny, but very sweet too! Now all it needs is a photo of the doll(s) that inspired this lovely poem. :o)
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: congratulations for creating this beautiful poem. I am excited to see the doll in her dress ... keep in touch
ReplyDelete:D What latest buy made you so desperate to compose a poem? You're sooo creative! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been AWOL. The porcelain doll had her own porcelain doll. Both were broken. The dress is torn or mouse gnawed. Horrified at spending even $3 on such a mess I reduced them to components and trashed the bodies. Such a photo would be rather grim! The small doll's dress is whole and will fit Skipper - sorta. The larger doll's dress will have to be remade, as far as I can see. Both need to be cleaned up. Perhaps I can get to that, today. :)
ReplyDeleteYour poem sounds like me. Thanks for putting the ugly doll purchase experience in words!
