Three Doll Books

I had to laugh a little,
when I titled this post.
I got the tune of
three blind mice in my head.

Used

Used

New

I was happy to find each of
these books at bargain prices, in
the last four months.
I had no idea I would
have them for weeks and
still not have made anything
from their patterns!

Weird, huh?!

Rumer Godden

Do you like stories about dolls?

One of my favorite "doll" authors
is Rumer Godden.

I think the first of her books
that I read was
Miss Happiness and Miss Flower.

Four of her shorter books about
dolls are published in one
volume, thus the name;
Four Dolls.

Impunity Jane is an adventurous
little doll.

The Fairy Doll is about a young girl
growing up with a fairy doll's help.

The Story of Holly and Ivy
tells how a doll and a girl
overcome obstacles to better their Christmas.

Candy Floss lives a special
life as a good luck charm.

I have purposely made my
descriptions rather vague
so that you may enjoy the stories
more, as you read them.

Miss Godden wrote other books.
At least seven of them are doll stories
if I remember correctly.

Do you have a favorite doll story?
More than one?

Do tell!

Joke's on Me!

I've borrowed this book from the local
library several times.  I keep hoping to
find it at a book sale, or something.
A search on Ebay unearthed these
two copies, plus more.  These were
about the same price.  They seemed
to be the same book, but I wasn't sure,
so I bid on both.
Startlingly, I got them both.
(he heee!)

Book of Doll Clothes

Two-Hour Dolls' Clothes
It's full of ideas, advice, encouragement,

instructions, sketches and photos!

I borrowed this book through inter library loan,
then was delighted to find it at Goodwill, where I snatched it!
