Sorry, Charlie!

<>
It had been two months, but Charlie Brown was still hopeful.

Sometimes, he knew...

...valentine cards...

...do get lost in the mail!

So, with the same spirit...

...that made him try to fly a kite...

...form a team...

...and play a season of baseball...

...or attempt to kick a football
held by Lucy Van Pelt...

...he checked the box and waited the mail carrier, faithfully.

Two whole months later, he finally lost faith,
gave up and crawled ....

... into the mailbox.  Poor Charlie!

Sorry, but my brain is just too tired.

What a Doll!

The bride & groom for the cake was handmade & unique!
Grandma had to stay home from the wedding so they made a "doll" of her to stand in!

Cute Cookie!

Oh, hello!  I'm just hawking cookies!

It's a fun job, most of the time.

Once in awhile my hat gets threatened.  What?

A big glass of milk?  Where?

Oh, yes!  That was a very funny joke.
Goodbye,now!!

Oh, are you still here?

Spring Dance

It was in the 60 degrees (F) and the sun was shining.
Aunt Lou had just finished an experiment in the way of Summer dresses and set up a photo shoot with Ellowyne Wilde.
Whether influenced by the weather or the dress, who shall say, Miss Wilde began, uncharacteristically, to dance!

Catching up a scarf-like throw from the set, she tossed it around her head, then her shoulders, dancing to music unheard by us.

Whew!  She suddenly collapsed into a chair!
and we got on with the shoot, which I will post tomorrow,
good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
Ellowyne Wilde is from Wilde Imagination.

Dolls and Sentiment

This is not an illustration from a vintage book.

It is a "touched up" photo of my sentimental "vignette."

The child's chair was my aunt's.  I bought it at her daughter's yard sale.
The bear was a gift to my son on his first Christmas, over 21 years ago.
I made the hat on the bear for my son, to keep the sun off his fair skin.  He has outgrown the bear and the hat.
The porcelain baby doll was a gift from my Mom, who bought it at a yard sale, and gave it to me during a visit at my sister's camp.  It was the last doll my Mom gave me.
The rag doll was in my friend's stuff that was left behind when her family moved out of the house where she had her last illness.
Sentimental, aren't I?

Carrie's Climb, A Wordless Picture "Story"

Teen Trends Courtney
by Mattel

I was not really a tomboy.
This reminds me of my sister,
who was always up a tree.

I love the feet on these dolls!

Ladybird, Ladybird...

But where is "Home?"

She doesn't seem sure, herself!

This ladybug doll was a thrift store find.
Her antennae were broken/missing.
She is plastic.
