Serenity in a Skirt?

I call these two rectangle skirts "serenity skirts"
because they take very little thought, I sew them
by hand and take my time and that makes me
feel serene.  Of course, there are variations.
The short skirt is indeed two rectangles, but they
are the whole skirt, with an elastic waist.  That's all
the fabric I had.   The checked skirt has an extra
rectangle as the ruffle.  Of course, the dress in the
middle (shown in the post for yesterday)
has a rectangle skirt, but the real reason that
picture is there is: the ninth skirt would not
button around Ellowyne's waist.  Oops!
