Little Stacie has Been Patient

Temperatures have been dropping
around here, but she hasn't complained.

So, today she got that shampoo
she needed.

Well, it's cleaner!

Perhaps it can be controlled
this way.  I'm thinking of
giving her a boil perm.

I did make her a pair of panties.
I did not finish them.
They went on fine, but restricted
her a bit too much.

I also made her a little dress.
I goofed that up, too.
Maybe I'll take a photo later.
Maybe not.
At least she is no longer
completely nude!

Guess Who Came Home With Me!

Yep, I stopped back at the store
and she was right where I
left her, on top of the gumball machine.
(The red plastic basket was there, too.
I didn't buy it because I couldn't think of a good reason to do so, and it was no longer 25 cents.)

She hasn't any clothing, yet.
(She was wearing only her price
tag when I found her.)

Doesn't she look happy?

What's Your Dream Doll?

Does she or he actually exist,
or are you still waiting for someone
who shares your vision
to come out with your dream doll?

When I was quite young I told my family
that I wished for a doll that not only
drank and wet, but talked and walked
and grew!

I've already blogged about gazing
at a bigger than life
full page head shot advertising
Francie's debut in Jack and Jill
magazine.

Allen shared the name of the
nicest of the boys next door.
(They were all older guys -- in high
school, and all but Allen teased too much.)

Allen also had red hair,
a darker version of my childhood
heart throb, Lester's strawberry
blonde hair.

What dolls have you craved?
This is just a start, on my
list.  Most of them were
from Barbie's family well into
my twenties.  Then
antique dolls caught my
attention.

Perhaps I'll continue
this thread a little longer...

We'll see.

The (most recent) One That Got Away

OK, so
I wasn't going to buy any more dolls.

OK, so
I was in Salvation Army looking for other things.

OK, so
there was this very pose-able Stacie (little sister to Barbie) doll for 79 cents with chopped off hair whose smile told me that she wouldn't take up any room, to speak of, at all.

OK, so
the lines were ridiculously long at checkout and they closed one of the two registers and I stood in line for 10 minutes without noticing the line moving at all.

OK, so
I put her and the 25 cent basket I had on top of the gumball machine and left.

OK, so...
no photo of my little doll because I didn't get her.

(sniffle)

In case you are wondering, my son needed the car or I really might have stood there for another 15 minutes, at least!

Have you let any dolls get away that you still remember?  I have!  That's why I added the parenthetic phrase to my title.

Something's Afoot!

Literally!

I found these shoes in the dollar
section of Joann, at half price.

Unfortunately, they only
have lefts.
Hey, whaddya want for
a buck?

Coming Into Focus

Well, the title is a little dramatic,
because all that is coming
into focus is a desire to
do some doll blogging, again.

THIS IS IT!

Tomorrow being my "blog-iversary," this post
brings my attempt to post about dolls each day
for a year to a close.  There was one miss.
There were two stumbles, but I wrote a
"makeup post" for each of these little
holes in my path.

I am not finished with doll related blogging.
Having followers encourages me.
Getting comments encourages me.
The way that I feel when I hit on an
idea for a post encourages me.

So, have I been kept from depression
in this year?
Not entirely,
but blogging about
one of my "loves" has been a bright
spot in some gray-ish days.

Thank you for joining me.

See you soon.
