Hello!

I

am

Velvet!
(by Ideal)

Velvet was very dirty, when
she came here a few weeks ago.
Having had a bath
and shampoo,
she looks much better.
I think I missed a smudge,
 or two.  :)

  1. I love how you fixed up Velvet! She looks great! Had a Chrissy and a Mia from Ideal when I was a kid and they were my favorite dolls next to Barbie. Always wanted a Harmony. Been hovering over Ebay auctions ready to spring a bid on a Harmony in the past few weeks. Going through my 2nd childhood. Uh oh...seeing your Velvet is starting to give me the bug even more! LOL

    1. Well, should I apologise for adding to your being "bugged?" :) I'm glad you like her, Laurie.

  2. Velvet looks great! I had a Moovin' Groovin' Crissy when I was a kid. In fact, she was the last doll I got as a child at the young age of 9! Maybe that's why I collect dolls now. I just didn't get enough as a child. I really didn't get to BE a child for very long either. Too many responsibilities.

    1. Ouch! I had no idea! I was older and hardly gave these dolls a glance, way back when. This poor child was not treasured, at some time. She seems to smile through it all. :)

  3. What a sweet little girl! And did you make this lovely dress too?

    1. Velvet is wearing a pinafore from a porcelain doll who no longer resides here. :) Thank you for commenting, IHime.

    2. Your welcome, the pleasure is mine. :) Do I see correctly that Velvet has hair longer at the back? She must've had an interesting hairdo.

    3. Velvet has a "growing hair" plug in the middle of her crown. I turned it in as far as it would go and trimmed the ragged edges, but it is still not as short as the front. The rooted hair looks as though somebody got a little snippy with it. :)

  4. Hello from Spain: Velvet is very pretty. You always have the dolls as new. Keep in touch

    1. Thank you, Marta. If you look closely, you will see that Velvet is missing the tip of her index figure. I often buy dolls that are in need of "help." I can better afford them because other people don't want them. :)
